President’s Corner November 2010

November 15, 2010 in CEO's Corner by Simon Wieczner

We’re moving in the next few days.  Why, you ask? Because we are bucking the trend in business today.  We need to grow and our present facility just doesn’t make that possible. Our carpets are worn out, parking is tough and most importantly, we don’t have enough room to add people. So we searched for months (surprisingly hard given the commercial space situation) and found new space to build to our specs, giving us room to move, room to grow and as a bonus – plenty of free parking.

Snowbound Update: Wrapping up the fall trade show season – on to 2011

in ECM by Scott Pasho

Ah, fall is in the air! Here in New England, the leaves are dropping (as are the temperatures – and like a stone I might add), and for many businesses it is trade show time. We at Snowbound Software have just finished a busy trade show schedule covering events both here in the US and abroad, showing our wares to clients, prospects and partners…more on that later…

We have lots on the calendar for the remainder of this year and 2011. Later this month (November) we’re relocating as we’ve outgrown our current office space. Our new address as of November 20, 2010 will be:

Top 5 Reasons to have a Top 5 List – and not a Top Ten list

October 19, 2010 in Top 5 by Scott Pasho

Snowbound’s new blog – fun and informative – yes that’s right – both!

Our new blog features the latest in business news pertaining to our industry – viewing and Enterprise Content Management (or, ECM for those who love acronyms). But will be delivered with a whole new approach – with tongue firmly in cheek at times. Oh, sure, we’ll have articles under sections including ‘Best Business Practices’, ‘Hot Technology’ (maybe we can feature swimsuits made with nanotechnology here, hmmm…) and ‘Tips and Tricks’, which isn’t authored by a magician by the way. Also, a new section titled ‘Top 5’ will be highlighted as well featuring a variety of lists such as best products, best technology and most interesting new announcements.   We’re going with ‘Top 5’ for a couple of reasons; it’s frequently too difficult to come up with ten items for a list, and people seem to gravitate towards articles featuring lists.

How the iPad can transform Patient Record Keeping

September 9, 2010 in Hot Technology by Snowbound Software

Entering and retrieving patient record information electronically makes for a powerful method for improving healthcare, speeding response, increasing efficiency and reducing costs. Applications available today make this possible, but the data entry and viewing solutions have been burdened by technology not ideally suited for this purpose.

As a Customer, do I need to look Under the Hood?

CEO/President’s Corner – August 2010

As a Customer, do I need to look Under the Hood?

If you’re buying a toaster, I submit that most of us don’t care what’s inside as long as it toasts bread and doesn’t catch on fire. When buying flat panel TV’s, there’s so much complexity that it’s easy to be overwhelmed with the feature list, when perhaps all you care about is that you get the channels you want. However, some of us do buy based on resolution, on number of HDMI ports, on the contrast level and the speed of the refresh rate.

ECM solutions are becoming must-have items for companies subject to regulations

July 22, 2010 in ECM by Snowbound Software

Implementing ECM solutions has allowed several companies to reduce paper filing and comply with regulations easier.ECM solutions have proven to be a business-critical aspect of current IT operations at companies in several different industries, especially those subject to regulations mandating retention schedules, according to ECM Connection. Even as some companies are still hesitant to boost IT spending, employees have urged their IT decison makers to consider implementing ECM.

Employees have found the amount of time saved as a result of ECM implementation is reason enough to make the purchase. In the past, locating documents or setting solutions to manage documents in accordance with various retention schedules required extensive investment of time and resouces. With ECM solutions, the time required to properly handle these tasks is greatly reduced.

New Year Questions – Help us help you.

January 29, 2010 in Best Business Practices, CEO's Corner by Simon Wieczner

I’m not much for New Year’s resolutions.  I prefer to create a list and knock off the projects one by one.  Working this way gives me a great sense of accomplishment. Steering the company in the same way, I’d like to ask your help in creating the 2010 Snowbound list.

I firmly believe that we serve our customers best by always understanding what they want and need.  So help us help you.  Let’s start off the New Year this way:  click on the email below and tell me what you need (or what you want changed) from Snowbound this year and I’ll respond with what we think we can do to fulfill your needs.

President’s Corner – Is Customer and Product Support a Burden or a Delight?

August 28, 2009 in Best Business Practices, CEO's Corner, Hot Technology by Simon Wieczner

As we are all concerned about the economy and where it’s going, it is very encouraging to see the signs of business confidence continue to grow.  Certainly the summer has been odd because Americans are taking more vacation time than ever before and it seems Europeans also have increased their time away.   So one would think sales and development activity would be slow. Instead we see sales are relatively strong even though purchase delays are common.
